Silver Linings Playbook: My Review

Over my birthday weekend I finally saw multi Oscar nominated Silver Linings Playbook, a movie I had been wanting to see since I saw the trailer last year and read the book of the same title. It revolves around a bipolar man named Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) who is released from a mental institution into his parent's care. The reason for Pat being institutionalized in the first place: finding his philandering ex wife in the shower with a fellow teacher from the high school they both worked at. Pat's problem is that he went for years with an undiagnosed bipolar disorder. When he found his wife in the shower with another man it resulted in a beat down of epic proportions that caused Pat to lose his job and get locked up.

Tiffany Maxwell (Jennifer Lawrence) has issues of her own resulting from the loss of her husband. Pat's best friend Richie and his wife Tiffany's sister decide to set the two up and what results is not your atypical boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl love story. There's dancing, there's the Philadelphia Eagles, and Chris Tucker, Robert DeNiro, and Jacki Weaver in supporting roles that left this moviegoer wanting more.

If you want a good time at the theatre, go support this well acclaimed movie. This is definitely one worth the price of admission!
