Girlfriends: L A Confidential /My Review

The new season is upon us and with that comes new reality shows as well as scripted series. The one I have been most excited about is Oxygen's Girlfriends: L A Confidential. The show stars Eva Marcille, Denyce Lawton, Nikki Chu, and Kelly Marie Dunn as besties navigating love, career, and friendship in Los Angeles.

From what I have seen so far, my faves are Eva (who is famous for winning the 3rd season of America's Top Model) and Kelly Marie who is trying her best to balance a great career and a relationship with her hot boyfriend. As far as resident bitch, that title seems to belong to Denyce who seems to be the drama queen of the bunch. I just read in the press release for the show that Denyce is dealing with a broken engagement and the murder of a sibling so this explains  Denyce's overly emotional state.

What this show promises to not bring to the table is the barbaric antics of those other reality shows that we all watch but pretend not to. I will continue to tune in because Eva is a fave of mine from her Top Model days so let's see if she and her crew have what it takes to take on the likes of Basketball Wives, The Real Housewives, and Love and Hip Hop.

If you have yet to see it, download the pilot for free from I Tunes, or catch it on Oxygen every Monday at 11 PM.

  1. I had no idea about Denyce’s loss. I feel sorry for her, but she is not my favorite from the show. Eva has definitely lived up to her title as “Eva The Diva,” and I cannot get enough of her style. I will miss the rest of the season because of my new work schedule at Dish. I will try to stay current with the gossip about this show, and Eva’s ever changing looks. I pre-set my Hopper to record the rest of the season, and I won’t miss any of the mild drama, since it holds over 2,000 hours of recording space. From the commercials there are several Eva “The Diva” looks I want to replicate.

    1. Natalie since you work at Dish tell them they need to give me back my WE and AMC. I am missing the Braxtons, Mary Mary and The Walking Dead!
