A lot of people criticize Keri Hilson, but I have been feeling her new stuff so far. I liked the first CD a lot and even better things are slated for Keri with No Boys Allowed which is released on Dec. 21st. Go Keri!!

Movie News

Tyler Perry will be putting an urban spin on Meet the Parents with Tina Gordon Chism's new film We The Peeples. It's about a guy meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time. I'll give it a shot because TP is the power behind it, but damn a little originality please!

Halle Berry a comedian? Well we shall see once Shoe Addicts Anonymous hits the multiplex. It's about a group of women who bond over their love for all things Manolo Blahnik and Louboutin. Sounds like a multiracial version of SATC so we'll see how this goes. The last time I remember Halle doing comedy was BAPS back in the nineties, and I've been trying to forget that debacle ever since.

Taraji Signs On To Play Tiffany Rubin

One of my favorite movie actresses Taraji Henson has been on a roll as of late. Most recently she starred in The Karate Kid (which I have not seen yet to my regret) and Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carrell. According to the Entertainment News wire on Black Voices,  Taraji has signed on to the Lifetime flick, Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.

I was not familiar with the story of  Rubin,  a school teacher from Queens and the mother of  a biracial son named Kobe. The story centers around Rubin's search for the child who was stolen from her by the biological dad, a South Korean native.

The American Association for Lost Children got involved and helped to get Kobe back from his father, but the journey to that point will make for some interesting viewing.

I will keep you all posted on when the movie will air on the Lifetime network.

Halle Is NYC Bound

Thanks to the success of The Color Purple, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof,  and Fences, Broadway producers know that urban audiences enjoy the theater just as much as their White counterparts. Maybe that's why Halle Berry has decided to try her hand on stage in the upcoming The Mountaintop.
The play is about Martin Luther King's final hours and Kenny Leon (fresh off Fences) will direct it. I hope that Halle will prove to theater audiences that she can handle the rigors of Broadway life and finally shut up the naysayers who thought her Oscar win for Monsters Ball was a fluke.

More Proof Zoe Is Taking Over the World

It seems as though Zoe Saldana is the new It girl for not only the movies, but Calvin Klein as well. The designer has tapped Z to be the spokes model for his underwear line and Calvin Klein Envy.  October is when the new advertisements will launch so look for the steamy pics in the fashion mags, as well as online and on billboards.
